In spite of all the prayers, even my sister the atheist going to the hospital chapel and praying several times a day, my brother-in-law passed away last Wednesday. My sister, his wife of 51 years, and I held his hand and each other as the life support was turned off. He was gone within a few minutes.
This is just something we have to go through. Death is part of life. I don't like it but I accept it.
Thank you for all your thoughts and prayers.
My journey through life, as I attempt a healthy lifestyle. Both physically and mentally. I live in the Pacific Northwest, but I'm from the great state of Alaska. I'm a software engineer, and I'm nearing my retirement years. It's a beautiful day to be alive!

Hi Diana,
Yep, it is a part of life, one of the yuckier parts of it. I'm so sorry for your loss, and you and your family will be in my prayers.
During this time, please remember to be good to yourself.
Sorry to hear of his passing, thoughts our with you and your family.
I'm so sorry. To lose your spouse after that long is like losing half of yourself. I will pray for your sister tonight. And for you so that you might be able to support her in all the ways she needs. God bless.
My heart is with you and your family. Your presence and support in your sister's life will be very important to her I'm sure. I send my love as much as a blogger can.
Oh Diana, I am so sorry to hear that. My heart goes out to you and your sister at such a difficult time which, yes, is a part of life - but a very hard one.
With all that you've dealt with in a short space of time, I feel I must reiterate what HMR Girl said earlier - remember to be kind to yourself and give yourself time to heal, spiritually, mentally and physically. Hugs from the UK.
I am joining the others now in prayers for you and your sister. Hugs from Oregon,
Loretta

I am so sorry to hear of his passing away. My thoughts and prayers are with you and his family.
I've thought about you and your family a lot over these past few weeks and it's so strange because I don't even know you. I am so sorry for you loss and know that there are many, many people praying for you. Also know that the people who read your blog will learn from this and use this as fuel to inspire their own weight loss and efforts to get healthy.
So sorry for your sister and you and your whole family. Glad you could be with your sister though I'm sure it was a comfort to her to have you with her.
